Introduction

Last week’s assignment was to write a peer review about the blog of one of my fellow students. I choose for digital learning. The reason for this is that personally I don’t know much about the subject and I am curious about it. There are two groups who are dealing with this concept, I will write a review about the blog ‘Say no to analog education: Join digital learning’.

Lay-out
When you open the blog, the first thing that will catch your attention is the image with the blue skull with brains, it looks kind of futuristic (and if you like sci-fi a little bit, just like me, you can appreciate it), and fits with the blog because I think the subject overall is futuristic. The image is wisely chosen When reading the title of the blog ‘Say no to analog eduaction: Join digital learning’ the subject of the blog is very clear. This is very important, because readers will decide to read your blog, or not, by the lay-out of your blog. The title also says that the writers are, obviously, supporters of the digital learning-concept.
They have chosen for a neutral background color, lightblue, and a simple structure, this together makes the blog well-organized with a professional touch. However, the use of words like ‘Grtz’ in some articles diminishes the professional touch.
The absence of other (unnecessaray) images contributes to this. The writers use SlideShare to upload most of their assignments.

Content
In the very first post the writers introduce theirselves and their topic. I think that is a good way to start a blog.
Looking at the content of the blog, I think the language they use in the articles is very clear and understandable. They are very creative with their literature when writing an article or an essay. The titles of the articles are inviting to read. Mostly the articles have a introduction, but not a (clear) conclusion. Personally I like essays with subtitles or white lines, it makes the reading process easier for me, especially when the essays are long.
The writers also put a lot of effort in searching for other material for their subject, such as clips and presentations.
What I like most of this blog is that the writers are all exploring another part of the subject, I think. In this way a wide understanding about the concept of digital learning develops throughout the blog.
