Peer review Media Fruitcakes

This peer review is about the blog Media Fruitcakes, which can be found on this website: Media Fruitcakes Blog

I choose to do the review about this blog because I was very interested after the presentation they gave in Pecha Kucha style, which was done very nicely.

The first thing that you see is the lay-out. Before you read the blog you instantly develop an opinion about it, because of how it looks. Het media fruitcake design is simple, but it looks very professional. The pictures on the top of the page are nice. The name Media Fruitcakes really speaks to the imagination, but I don’t know instantly what it is about.

In the first post it is discussed on which question the blog is based on, the question from ‘Woedend!’. This is a clear introduction, but in the next post they give 4 sources to answer the question. But maybe it would be better if there was a further introduction more on the subject, before they give the sources. And why the name Media Fruitcakes?
It is smart that they narrow down the question quite fast. So their essay about New Media gives a more clear answer.

The blog is well composed, the more you read, the closer you get to the answer of the question which is asked in the first post. It is also clear that the makers know a lot about making a blog, with good references and a good looking website.
At some posts it wouldn’t hurt if they were more critical about a subject. They give a lot of information which relates to their subject, but not everything should be taken as the truth. On the other side it is hard to prove that something is wrong, because after all, we are still students.

In the blog they look at their subjects on very different ways, economic, social and innovation. This is very positive, because you get more insights about the topic. But at the end, I still don’t know why they choose the name Media Fruitcakes. Maybe a looked over the answer and they did explain it, or maybe I don’t know because of my lack of digital knowledge.

At the end it is clear that this is a very interesting blog. The website looks good, and the content is of a high standard.
